One of the great things about Denver is that you can live in a city, but you are surrounded by so many opportunities to experience nature.
My Colorado Series continues today in the Mile High City! Denver is a great place for young professionals and families alike. Downtown Denver is easily walk-able, has a beautiful Riverfront, and an outdoor mall. Denver incorporates its love for the outdoors, with its trendy social scene. Not only that, for all you sports lovers, Denver has several professional sports teams(Broncos, Nugget, Avalanche and Rockies) and all of their stadiums are downtown! You can hike, catch a game and grab a brew from a local brewery, all in one day!
For families, you can visit the Aquarium, Botanical Gardens and Elitch Gardens. Plus, Denver isn’t too far from all the best ski resorts in the nation!
I started off at the Riverfront Park. Here, you will be able to kayak, play in the sand, bike, run or skate down the Platte river. There are trails that lead all throughout the city, and have great city views.
Go straight down Stout street and you will find the iconic blue bear peeping into the Colorado convention center.
Larimer Square is a main street with restaurants and shops and it has great night. Also if you go straight over to Market St. you will also find lots of restaurants and bars. Connecting both streets is the 16th St. mall. This outdoor shopping center offers a free tram ride up and down the street to different stores, and restaurants. Look out for festivals and events, as the are often hosted in this area.
16th Street Mall starts at Riverfront Park and ends at the gold-capped Capital building, which is my last stop! Here you will find the Capital building, the Denver Mint, the Denver Public Library and art museums.
There are so many things to do in Denver, you could spend at least 3 days here! Like I previously mentioned, from Denver, there is easy access to the many ski resorts in Colorado. I won’t be going to the mountains this trip, but I do have one more exciting adventure in store! Stay tuned!!
Until Next time, Happy Adventuring!
